Today I stood on my glasses and snapped them in two. Aside from the fact that it’s going to make commuting a bit of a pain tomorrow, my main grievance is with the fact that I’m going to look like a bellend walking around with only one arm on my glasses all week.
Now, I’m the kind of guy that doesn’t mind wearing odd socks — in fact by this point I almost do it intentionally — but I think wearing one-armed glasses is pushing the quirky aesthetic a bit too far.
The main problem is that, naturally, when I was trying to fix the broken arm, I ended up losing the screw. It fell into the deep dark depths of the sofa cushion and will never be seen again. So it goes.
So tomorrow I have to journey to SpecSavers with the hope that they have the tools and the capabilities to fix my glasses, or I’m going to be walking wonky all week.
It’s amazing the damage that one small screw can do. Although, I guess I did stand on the glasses with most of my weight. That did a fair bit of damage too.
Until tomorrow, I don’t even know why they were on the floor.
