Today we went for a Winter walk around the Bathurst estate — wait, is it still Winter? I feel like it’s been Winter forever. It’s so cold. Let me check– Yep. Still Winter. Anyway…

Alice is still experimenting with the camera on her new phone, so she wanted to go on a photo-walk around the park to try it out. It’s something that we should do more often, really: Morning walks around the park. We live in such a beautiful place and don’t really get to see much of it.

D’you know what we need? A dog. A dog is a perfect excuse to go for a pretty walk around a park. (By the way, when I say ‘park’ I don’t mean, like, swings and shit. It’s a big-old estate/forest/grounds thing with, like, rivers and trees and stuff. Look:)

It’s so pretty. I used to go for a run around the park every weekend (I’m playing it very fast and very loose with the word ‘every’, there). Yeah, we definitely need a dog. Do dogs eat hamsters? We can’t get a cat because a cat would definitely eat our hamster, Lola. But would a dog? Would a hamster know the difference? Because apparently even the sight of a cat can make a hamster have a heart attack. (I don’t know how true that bit is, but I’m almost 100% certain that a cat would eat Lola)

And you can’t really take a hamster out for a Winter walk around the Bathurst estate on a Sunday morning. She’d get cold.

I don’t really know in which direction this blog was supposed to be heading when I sat down to write it, but I’ve definitely diverged from my original intention. I should go to sleep. It’s been a long day and I fly to Germany tomorrow.

Until tomorrow, tschüss.
