Today I had what could only be described as “I proper good day”. It started with 18 holes of golf at a beautiful new course with my dad. I’d booked us in to The Wiltshire — which is one of the posher courses in the county. It was a birthday present, but it was his birthday in April, and we he was away in France all of May, so we had to do it in June. And so it goes.
It was great. We had a great day. The weather treated us, and so did the course.
We both played well, and we had a great time.
And then this evening we had friends round for a barbecue. Well, family technically, but either works. Alice’s sister is a vegetarian, so I had to barbecue veggie food. That was new. I didn’t really know what I was doing, to be honest, so I just put a load of foil down and tried to avoid cross-contamination as best I could.
To be completely honest, it wasn’t the best barbecue I’ve ever been in charge of. The food was unevenly cooked and charcoaled in places. Although, I still maintain that if you want evenly cooked food then you should cook inside, and let Barbecues be what they are.
BBQing and golf.. I’ve got to do all my favourite things today.
Until tomorrow, that adds up to a pretty perfect Saturday.
