July 2nd 2018
Today I went for another run — that’s two in a week now, after months of no activity. It’s a slow recovery, but I’m getting there. It’s been so long since I used my running watch that it’s forgotten how to fetch GPS data from the satellite, so we had to delay the start of the run for a bit.
The guy I was running with has a dodgy knee so we had to stop halfway through the 5k as well. To be honest, I wasn’t too disappointed with that, because primarily it was nice not to be the person holding the group up for once, and secondly taking a breather was appreciated.
It was 30 degrees outside.
I didn’t actually check. It felt that hot though.
The rest of the company were taking part in the monthly 5km race, but although I ran the 5km/the same distance as the race, the ‘race’ part of that phrase put me off. I knew that I’d try to run too fast and end up stopping before halfway and walking the rest of it home.
And that would be less than ideal.
Until tomorrow, it wouldn’t be the first time that’s happened to me though,
