Today I moved back in with my Mum and Dad for a few days. Although, actually, the term “moved in” brings with it a sense of finality of which I am afraid, so instead I’ll just say “I’m visiting my Mum and Dad for a few days” while Alice and I try to decide on our more permanent living arrangements.
Since we broke up, she’s spent three nights at her parent’s, two nights at our’s, and now I’m here for a couple days. Although there’s no real bad blood between us, we should really try to live apart for a while. Otherwise, if we’re still living together, it’ll begin to feel like we’re still actually together, and that’s the complete opposite point of a break up.
So, basically, we just have to figure out who lives where. It shouldn’t be too difficult, as realistically there are very limited options: Either I live at our home and she lives at her parent’s, or the other way around. For now, at least.
And although the options are simple enough, the decision itself is so tough.
Breaking up, in general, seems pretty tough. Who knew?
On the bright side, however, I get my Mum’s home-cooked meals, and to experience the comforting surroundings of my old room.
All in all, I’m doing okay. Just about. But we’re no closer to making any sort of decision on who gets the house, and – perhaps more importantly – who gets to go on the holiday that we’ve already booked and paid for.
Until tomorrow, the whole thing is really tough.
