Today I think I might finally have to accept that my iPhone storage is full. For the past year or so I’ve been flirting with the upper bound of my 64GB storage. Whenever I’d get the “iPhone storage limit reached” notification I’d delete an unused app or a couple of blurry old photos and that would tide me over until a week later when I got the notification again.

My problem is I’m a hoarder. Of my 64 GB of storage, 36 GB of that is my photo library. I just don’t want to delete any of the old stuff. I’ve got holiday photos on there from, like, four years ago that even though I never look at, I still want to keep just in case one day I do.

And I know I could just back them all up to my computer — and in fact, I have — but I like the thought of having them on my phone because it’s almost like I’m carrying all of my memories around with me. I mean, I guess you kind of always carry your memories with you (in your brain) but it’s nice to have physical copies.

Also, you never know when you might need an old photo. I think I really need to just commit to just archiving the whole lot, organising it into folders on my computer and deleting it all from my phone. I love foldering stuff. It’s great fun, so I don’t know why I’ve put it off for so long.

By this point, I’m desperate for storage space. I’m at the point where I can’t even receive WhatsApp messages without first deleting something. It’s become a problem. And so, I’m going to have to start deleting stuff. Or I’m going to have to start storing stuff.

Until tomorrow, either way I need to have a clear out.
