Dyrham

December 7th 2018

Today I went for a walk round Dyrham Park. It’s a Victorian country house on the outer edges of Bath. We were supposed to be going tomorrow, but when we woke up the weather was too beautiful to risk leaving it another day. This is England, after all.

It’s something I probably don’t do enough of, walking, considering when I do do it I actually really enjoy it. It was just really refreshing to be outside, breathing proper air, and experiencing nature.

Inside the house is lovely, and old, and antique-y, and all that, but that’s not as enjoyable to me as being outside.

The house is in the foot of a valley, surrounded by hills, and we scaled the hills both up and down, looking for deer.

And we found some:

I’d’ve liked to get closer, but have you seen the antlers on that big fucker? I don’t wanna get much closer to him. Even if it would’ve made for a better photograph.

Until tomorrow, it was a beautiful afternoon in a beautiful place.
