March 28th 2019
Today the weather made me really miss running. Because of illness and a trip to Norway, it’s been about 3 weeks since I last went on a proper run, and with the cool, bright weather we’ve had over the last few days, I can’t wait to get back to it. I’m on antibiotics that prohibit me from running until Monday, so as of next week I’ll properly jump back into it, I hope.
After two high-distance months in January and February, where I achieved a personal best 5km time, and in early March where I set a new half-marathon PB, the last three weeks has seen me run barely anything, and it’s starting to bother me. According to my Strava I’ve only done five activities in the last 4 weeks.
I’m taking that to be a good thing, because it backs up my primary running goal this year which was “to enjoy it”. Though considering the 5km and half marathon, I’ve already achieved the two feats that I wanted to achieve this year, so when I get back to running I’m going to need another goal to strive towards.
I’ve signed up for a 10km in July, and I’m hoping to hit under 42 minutes. So there’s the next thing to work towards.
Until tomorrow, get me back out there.
