April 9th 2019
Today I’m unwinding on my last free evening for over a week. Somehow, the coincidence (read: co-incidence, as in “to coincide”, not the other thing) of my social and business calendars has made it so that I have something to do every night for the next seven days. I am not used to this.
Tomorrow I’m going out for drinks with a couple of friends — on a school night no less!
Thursday is my Grandad’s birthday, so we’re going round my Grandparents for a fish and chip dinner.
Friday I’m going out for dinner with some other friends.
Saturday I have a date.
Sunday I’m playing golf (yes that counts as an all-day thing).
And then on Monday I’m flying to Germany for a business trip until Wednesday, so I guess that counts as busy evenings even if we’re only really working during the day.
And so, I feel worn out just thinking about it. I’m not going to have much free time for the next week, and that will kind of weigh on me a bit. Don’t get me wrong, I’m looking forward to spending time with my friends and family, and my work trip will be good fun too, but it’s just been a quirk of the calendar that all this stuff has happened at the same time.
Until tomorrow, it’s all going on.
