Today I’ve been (self-)diagnosed with a bout of (truly terrible) man flu. I started to feel rough yesterday and woke up today feeling even worse. Is it possible to “catch” hayfever? Because I think it’s partly that, as well.
I’ve never struggled with hayfever so far in my life, but I don’t know if it’s something you can acquire as you get older. Is it? I never used to be allergic to cats, but I developed that allergy as I got older. Actually, I think I’ve been allergic to cats for a long time, it just took me a while to realise it. I spent years thinking I was allergic to my ex’s sofa until I realised it wasn’t the sofa I was allergic to, but the cat hair that was left on it.
Yeah, it might be hayfever. Fuckin’ pollen. I’m coughing and sneezing a lot and I’m constantly rubbing my eyes. Also it kind of feels like there’s something stuck between my nose and my throat that is unwilling to become dislodged no matter how hard I splutter. Was that too much information? Very possibly.
I took some ibuprofen today, and that at least cheered me up a bit (is that science?) but maybe I need to start taking them piriteze(?) tablet to fight off the pollen.
Until tomorrow, I hope I’m not allergic to summmer.
