May 21st 2019

Today I booked the accommodation for one holiday, and the activities for another. In the first week of June I’m in Ibiza, and then in the first week in July I’m in Bulgaria. We needed to sort out somewhere to stay for the latter, and sort out things to do for the former.

The two holidays are going to be quite contrasting. I’ve just spent a hundred bucks on entry to clubs in Ibiza where drinks will be over fifteen quid each, whereas in Bulgaria a pound a pint would be considered expensive. We’ve tried to book some stuff in advance for Ibiza to save money, but as I see it the best nights are the ones you don’t plan so much. So we’ve got a nice balance of having a bit of structure, whilst also being open for spontaneity.

Conversely, In Bulgaria the Airbnb I booked is 12 pound a night each. We have absolutely nothing planned for while we’re there, but that’s kind of the point of it. It was cheap flights, a cheap Airbnb, and will be cheap once we’re over there too.

There is a part of me that thinks “Is two holidays within the space of four weeks excessive” and of course the answer is yes. But also: leave me alone I’m enjoying my life. This is why I go to work. I don’t want much. I’m not trying to buy a house, or start a family. Right now I should just try to enjoy my life. And if that means two holidays in a month then I’m going to go on two holidays in a month.

Until tomorrow, here for a good time not a long time.
