Today I hit some fantastic drives, and holed a few big putts at Palmares golf resort in he Algarve. It was probably one of the most enjoyable rounds of golf I’ve ever played, and definitely amongst the most beautiful.
Obviously the fact that I played well helps my rating of the course, but it’s picturesque setting helped itself.
This drive genuinely went 300 yards down the middle. Annoyingly I only have a pre-strike photo and not a full-strike video as proof, so you’ll just have to take my word for it.
I shot 90, which is a respectable score on any course, but today’s course was long and linksy, so I was even more happy with how I played. I won’t explain what linksy means, but I’m sure you could figure it out.
It’s a bit mental that the big blue thing in that photo is the fucking Atlantic Ocean, and we were just there playing golf with that view on a Tuesday morning.
It’s not a bad life, I’ll tell you that for free.
Sam and I beat Daryl and Jake 6&4, which is a bit of a drumming, and has caused us to reevaluate the handicap system, which is in someways beneficial to me, but in other ways a handicap. Which is why it’s called a handicap.
At the moment, I’ve played 3, and won one. I wanted to go home with three wins and I’ve got two days left, so we need 100% from here in.
Until tomorrow, cream a drive and sink a putt.
