Today I viewed a flat in Cheltenham. I decided at about 10am that I really wanted to find a new place to move into before Christmas, and by lunch I had three viewings lined up. Apparently if you put ‘I am ready to move in straight away’ in the body of an email to an estate agent they really expedite the process.
I left work a bit early and drove to Cheltenham (a much shorter commute than I have currently), and got completely lost trying to find the flat (which made it a much longer commute than normal). I parked up somewhere nearby and then, in pouring rain, ran around the streets of Cheltenham trying to find the estate agent. I’d asked my friend from work to meet me there, too, because I don’t have a clue what I’m looking for during a house viewing and she’s really good at this kind of thing. Anyway, she too was waiting for me whilst I was running around trying to find it.
My phone was barely working in the rain, and about to lose battery, and she called me and told me to meet me at a nearby pub. Naturally, I found the pub no problem.
The flat was nice. I still don’t really know what I’m looking for, or looking at, or the questions that I should be asking, but I liked the flat, and I could see myself living there. And I think that’s all that counts? I also really like the area. We went into the nearby afterwards (obviously) and it’s really my kinda vibe.
I’ve got a couple more viewings lined up tomorrow, and so I think I’ll have a decision finalised soon. I’ve been waiting around for a long time, but I’m not quite sure what I’ve been waiting for.
Until tomorrow, it’s time to stop waiting.
