December 28th 2019
Today I made some uncharacteristically good life choices and decided to stay at home watching Netflix on the sofa while I left my phone unanswered on the floor upstairs. I was avoiding both digital dependency and two distinct conversations that I didn’t want to have.
Instead, I had Budweiser, Bailey’s, and the first five episodes of Mr Robot. Also, the last five episodes of You Season Two. It has not been a hugely productive day, but that was kind of the idea. I drive back to Cheltenham tomorrow, which will conclude my Christmas break.
I got to see a lot of family, and even got to have a cuddle with my niece before my sister took her back to London this morning. I’m not entirely sure what day it is, but I think it’s a Saturday, which means it’s Sunday tomorrow, which means it’s Monday on tomorrow’s tomorrow, which means it’s back to work. For a bit.
It’s been a relaxing break, but there’s only so much Netflix one can watch before feeling like a slob. I’m almost at that limit, so I’m weirdly quite looking forward to returning to a bit of normalcy.
Until tomorrow, make good choices.
