May 31st 2020 Today I completed four straight weeks of running five kilometres every day. There was a brief stretch of leg pain a few days ago where I wasn’t sure I was going to make it, but I seem … Continue reading They

May 30th 2020 Today we toasted (with actual Champagne!) to all of the good stuff going on, and put all of the bad stuff to one side. We had a date night dinner, ordered some Thai food, ate most of … Continue reading Toast
May 30th 2020 Today I had midnight carbonara because my food schedule got shunted out of whack. I had breakfast at my normal time of , like, 10:30, and then went for a run at 12. I was in meetings … Continue reading Carbonara
May 28th 2020 Today it was sort of announced that the sort of lockdown as we know it is sort of over. Kind of. Apparently from Monday we can now go and visit up to 6 people at a time. I think that means that, socially at least, we’re on the other the lockdown, but I expect that I’ll still be working from home until September at least. And so, although September is still three months away, I’ve begun to see some light at the end of the tunnel. I haven’t been paying too much attention to the latest updates … Continue reading Lockdown
May 27th 2020 Today I know I should stop running because my legs are starting to hurt quite a lot, but I’m too far gone to break the streak. Today was 24 days in a row. I also think I’ve somehow developed hayfever at 26 years old. I woke up this morning and my right eye was swollen and itchy. I think that’s through hayfever because it was definitely not from any kind of party I had last night. So with one eye working, and one leg working, I went for a 5k run around Cheltenham for the 24th day … Continue reading Itches
May 26th 2020 Today, a few things. First, my legs hurt so much that I’m not sure I can continue my streak of running 5k every day. I’m on 23 days in a row at the moment, but today was a bit of a struggle. I’m hoping that I’ll be able to just sleep it off and be good to go again tomorrow lunchtime, but my right calf is in bits and I don’t feel in a good way. Second, I slept through a pretty important meeting today. That wasn’t great. It was at 8am and because it was a … Continue reading Few
May 25th 2020 Today it kind of feels like lockdown is lifted. Maybe it’s just because it’s a bank holiday, and also because it was 24 degrees out, but I was out for a run today and there were so many people around. I think people have just embraced/ignored the grey area in the government’s advice and are hitting the streets and parks. I wonder if that means that we’re on the downslope of the first peak, or the upslope of the second. I’ve not read the news in a couple months so I’m not actually sure how we’re progressing … Continue reading Slope
May 24th 2020 Today I drove home to visit my Mum and Dad. Yes I think I flouted lockdown rules. Yes I’m a terrible person. No I don’t deserve to be preachy about the British public being, by majority, a … Continue reading Flout
May 23rd 2020 Today I’m officially Cheltenham as fuck because now I eat dips out of ramekins. I bought some Gu pudding cheesecakes the other day and decided to keep the ramekins in which they came, and so now I … Continue reading Ramekin
May 22nd 2020 Today it was steak night. To celebrate that it was the first Friday of the week, to cap off an eventful week, and to toast to a mixed bag of a day, I had a glass/bottle of … Continue reading Cheers
