May 28th 2020
Today it was sort of announced that the sort of lockdown as we know it is sort of over. Kind of. Apparently from Monday we can now go and visit up to 6 people at a time. I think that means that, socially at least, we’re on the other the lockdown, but I expect that I’ll still be working from home until September at least.
And so, although September is still three months away, I’ve begun to see some light at the end of the tunnel. I haven’t been paying too much attention to the latest updates over the time we have been locked down (is it two or three months now?) so I didn’t really realise that this was even close to being a possibility.
Although, having said that, just by being outside for half an hour every day for my daily run, I’ve noticed more and more people congregating in larger and larger groups, so I figured that we were close to firstly unofficially, and then officially, calling lockdown off.
I just want to go to the pub, sit in a beer garden with my friends, and maybe swing a golf club around.
Until tomorrow, we’re almost there.
