Allowed

July 4th 2020

Today I went to the pub because we’re allowed to do that now. No, the irony is not lost on me that today is Independence Day. This morning I still felt pretty weird about going, but actually it was okay in the end. I was worried about it being crazy busy, and crowded with people everywhere, but it just really wasn’t.

We’d reserved a table in a pub in Gloucester, and we were given a table in our own little corner of the pub, where we could’ve gladly sat and watched three football matches if we’d’ve had the foresight to check that the pub had Sky Sports. Rookie.

When we realised they weren’t showing the Arsenal match, we went back to Brad’s and ordered a curry to tide us through the next two games. I had to transition from beer to wine because I felt bloated as fuck, but other than that it was basically like being in a pub.

In the end, being in the pub was fine, and there was nothing to worry about.

Until tomorrow, we’ll see how long that lasts.
