Generations

September 19th 2021

Today I had a family meal with four generations of Clutterbucks. Most of us are no longer Clutterbucks by name, but the genes are still there.

It was as my grandma’s birthday last week so this meal was to celebrate that.

All the cousins were tasked with bringing some food to contribute to a chilli/curry buffet. I was on Naan and poppadom duty. I bought 2 too many Naans and 24 too many poppadoms, but that’s better than too few poppadoms.

I also bought a tin of that weird spicy lime pickle stuff that comes with the poppadoms you get in curry houses, but nobody touched that. Nobody ever touches that, so I don’t know why I bought it.

My personal highlight of the food were Genine’s nachos. Sorry, Mum.

I tell you what, I can’t remember the last time I had a weekend this enjoyable. It’s been completely knackering, but absolutely top drawer. It’s been so good that I’m probably going to book tomorrow off work so that it doesn’t have to end.

Until tomorrow, thanks everyone.
