Today I got boosted. Covid-vaccination-boosted, that is. I’ve read a lot — and heard a lot — about people struggling to book their booster jabs, but honestly, for me, the experience was unbelievably slick.
On Tuesday I got a text from the NHS telling me there were slots available. I clicked the link. I could have booked it for Wednesday, had that have been convenient, but I booked it for today instead.
Some people have spoken about waiting in a virtual queue of thousands to book their booster. I’m not really sure why it’s been so painless for me, but it was.
This morning I made a coffee at like 11am, but couldn’t finish it before I had to leave for my appointment. So I left it, drove to get my booster, walked in, got jabbed, walked out, and by the time I got home my coffee was still warm.
That is a slick experience. I’m sorry that other people haven’t had that experience, but I’m glad that I did.
Maybe Cheltenham just has it’s shit together. Maybe it’s something to do with it being overwhelmingly Lib Dem around here. Maybe it’s nothing to do with that and I just got lucky. Either way, I feel glad that I could wake up this morning and be vaccinated without fuss.
More people should try that. Being vaccinated is great. I’d highly recommend it.
That said, I had relatively bad reactions to the last two jabs, so I’m interested to see how I feel after this one tomorrow.
Until tomorrow, stay safe, protect your loved ones, get vaccinated.
