Today I thought I ruined it all by burning the skin of the duck. I’d planned a fancy Tuesday night meal to make up for the fact I’ve been eating freezer leftovers since Thursday, and then I went and spoiled it all by doing something stupid like burning the skin of the duck.
I think something about how heavily I had marinated it had caused the skin to burn, and nothing else. Fortunately, it was recoverable. With a bit of care, I removed the burnt bits and the meal was still as good as I’d planned.
I mean, come on, this is pretty special:
That’s probably the first and last time you’ll see me making a salad. It’s definitely the first time you’ll see me making a salad with radishes in it.
I don’t even really know what a radish is but it was in the recipe, so it went in the dinner.
I’m glad I didn’t completely ruin the duck. It would’ve been a shame to throw away something that special.
Until tomorrow, the cucumber I could take or leave though.
